Free-agent right-hander Tom Gordon has signed a three-year contract to be the Phillies' closer, replacing recently-departed Billy Wagner, who is now with the Mets. Gordon's deal is believed to be $18 million.
And reliever Kyle Farnsworth has signed with the Yankees. He will be the set-up man for closer Mariano Rivera.
